How has it been getting used to your new club and have you been able to fully integrate into the team?
Hello, everything has been great and I’ve been accepted by this ambitious club with open arms. Everyone here has done everything possible to help me and my time here getting used to things has gone as well as it possibly could, although I think it is not over yet. I am still getting used to this new reality, and thing are getting much easier now. I am very happy to be playing for a club like Zenit and I’ll continue to get used to the team and the coaching ideas.
What do you think of the Russian Premier League? What main features in Russian football would you highlight?
I can say that I’ve notice that the Russian league is very intense and it’s a very competitive league. There are a lot of good teams here. The most important thing for me is that I feel comfortable in this team, in this football and in this league. I’m enjoying playing here, and for me this is the most important thing.
Even though you’ve only just arrived here, you’ve scored in almost every match. What is your secret and what will happen when you are completely used to things here?
Indeed, as I just said, getting used to things is ongoing, but I already feel comfortable and confident here. Thanks to having so many South Americans already here, players from Brazil and Colombia, with some of them speaking my language this has made my first few weeks at this club much easier and allowed me to show what I can do as a footballer. I hope that I will only improve and play even better and better.
Zenit play Fakel on Saturday, a team in 15th place in the table. It’s probable Fakel will try to defend deep and frustrate Zenit. How comfortable will you be playing against this?
I think we will treat this match like any other, especially since as the game is at home with our fans. This always creates a special atmosphere, but we will prepare just like any other match and try to win. I will try to play calmly and wait for my chances. When the opportunity arises I will try my best to score rand go for the win.
