Alexander Ryazantsev was born on September 5, 1986, in Moscow. He started playing football at the Torpedo Olympic Reserve Academy, and made his Russian Premier League debut on October 16, 2004, with FC Moskva.
Ryazantsev then played for FC Rubin from 2006 to 2013, featuring in more than 150 matches, and scoring 20 goals. Ryazantsev won the Russian title twice with Rubin.
He was first called up to the Russian national team in 2011. Ryazantsev joined Zenit on January 17, 2014.
