Tymoshchuk first became a Zenit player in 2007. He won the Russian Premier League, the Russian Super Cup, the UEFA Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup with Zenit. Tymoshchuk played 100 matches and scored 18 goals for Zenit.
Tymoshchuk signed a contract with Bayern Munich on July 1, 2009, where he played four years (132 matches, 6 goals). He twice won the German Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the German Super Cup with Bayern Munich, as well as the UEFA Champions League.
Tymoshchuk debuted for the Ukrainian national team on April 26, 2000, in a friendly match against Bulgaria (1:0). He`s the Ukrainian record holder for most caps for the national team, at 127.
Anatoliy Tymoshchuk plays as a defensive midfielder. He been named a Master of Sport in Ukraine (2005) and Russia (2008).
