How much did the incident with Odoevskiy affect the game in general?

“Obviously it’s more difficult to play when you’re outnumbered than when you have an equal amount of players.”

You’re a very experienced goalkeeper, so it most likely wasn’t too hard for you to enter such game, was it?

“Yes, it wasn’t the first time. A similar situation was in Grozny two years ago. Andrey Lunyov got injured, and we were down to ten men too.”

Do you think that at the end they had a few dangerous chances?

“Yes, there was some pressure from Akhmat. Weather conditions and that we were outnumbered had an impact on the result. Though I don’t think they had too many dangerous chances.”

Did you use any of the small goalkeeper tricks? For example holding the ball a bit longer before returning it into the game.

“Of course. The guys needed a break, it was difficult for them. They have to change positions, play in defence. It’s necessary to rest, to give them short breaks so they don’t lose their focus.”

What did you say to Daniil, or is it better not to bother a person in such situations?

“I told him not to get upset. Though generally, it’s better not to say anything right away, there’s no point, the emotions have to die down a little bit first.”
