Aleksey Butarevich was born on 12 January 1997 in Lida, Belarus. He has previously represented Torpedo Minsk, Smolevichi and Dinamo Minsk and has played for his country at U18, U19 and U21 levels. 

He spent the 2022/23 season at Rotor Volgograd, scoring one goal and joins Zenit-2 as a free agent.
