Artur: “This isn’t the time to think about who will be, and who won’t be, champions”

The Zenit striker spoke to us after the 2-1 win against Krasnodar.
Artur: “This isn’t the time to think about who will be, and who won’t be, champions”

Congratulations on the win and your man of the match award. It’s probably extra nice when you get this award after coming on as a substitute. How do you feel?

I’m delighted as this is the first award of its kind for me, and I scored my first Zenit goal with my right foot. I’m happy to have helped the team in a very important match, it was vital that we won and I’m very happy we got the three points, now we move forward.

How were things in the locker room at halftime, being a goal down and without Wendel. What were the manager’s instructions?

We know how important Wendel is to us, but, as I said after the last match, we have enough experienced and quality players to cover for him. During halftime the discussion was about shooting on goal more often, and being more accurate with the final ball. I came on with the task of speeding up attacks and creating more in attack.

The talk all week has been about how this was a title decider. What do you think about that and how do you feel now, with the four point gap?

Yes this match was between the two challengers for the title. There are many matches ahead of us but today was a big step towards the title. There is one less match left, but there are still many games ahead of us. This isn’t the time to think about who will be, and who won’t be, champions.
