We spoke to the Man of the Match after the 1-0 win over Oreneburg.
Claudinho: "I’m delighted I was able to score"

Congratulations on the win in a tough game, how do you feel right now?

Yes, we had to work hard today to get the three points. It was not our best second half and the other side put pressure on us, so we didn’t manage to complete a lot of moves. Even though we won, we have to remind ourselves that playing like that for prolonged periods is not be alright, especially when we are playing at home. The outcome of the game should be settled much earlier, and with all due respect to our opponents, we should have created more chances and scored more goals. Today in the second half, things didn’t quite work out for us. We will look at things and correct our mistakes and not repeat them in the future.

You scored a great goal in the middle of the first half, and had threatened their goal three times before that. Were you given that job by the manager?

We always spend a lot of time in training on our attacking game, trying to create as many chances as possible. Today I just happened to find myself in free space often, and had chances to shoot. I had a few shots before scoring, which sadly didn’t go in. But it’s good that in that moment with Cassierra we made the space and I was able to take my time for an accurate shot. I will try to continue to create more chances and I’ll say it again, we must score more.

You really celebrated that goal, what does it mean to you? Maybe you dedicated it to someone?

The reaction was so big because it’s been a long time since I’ve scored in an official match, and it was a good goal. I released all my stress that’s built up, and I’m delighted I was able to score. I dedicated this goal to my family: my partner who was in the stadium, my mother and the people I love.
