Sergei Semak took part in the opening ceremony of Special Olympics Spartakiad

The Zenit manager welcomed 430 athletes from 27 regions of Russia to the Special Olympics Spartakiad.

The Spartakiad is taking place in St. Petersburg from 22 to 25 April and is supported by Gazprom. The  participating athletes will compete in four disciplines, mini-football, beach football, figure skating and rhythmic gymnastics. 

The opening cermony took place on 22 April with Sergei Semak speaking to the crowd and welcoming the athletes to the games. Zenit are joining Gazprom in supporting the event and we've also donated club memorabilia to the 39 teams taking part.  

The Special Olympics of Russia organises physical education, promotes a healthy lifestyle and holds competitions for athletes with special needs across the country.
