Daniil Shamkin was born on 22 June 2002 in St. Petersburg and made his way through the Gazprom Academy, going on to make his debut for Zenit-2 in 2019, becoming their youngest ever player and goal scorer. 

Daniil made his debut for the Zenit first team in March 2020 and played 9 matches for Zenit. He spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Baltika Kaliningrad, and the following season on loan with KAMAZ.
