Luciano Spalletti: “We celebrated together!”

Zenit`s head coach, the leader of Russia`s 2010 champions, shared his impression from today`s match and the blue-white-light blue`s championship season.

– Of course everybody was waiting for the celebration to start after the match, and maybe that had an effect on the match. Maybe we were missing something as far as fighting spirit and sporting anger go. But despite that we played a pretty good match. We played against a team that was fighting to stay in the Premier League. This match was played not only by our team, but by the whole stadium, arm in arm. The match result was fair, and its fair that Krylya Sovetov will stay in the Premier League, especially considering the financial problems that the team had at the beginning of the season.

– Did the Zenit fans inspire the team`s coaching staff to run onto the field topless after the match?
– We`ve seen many times how the fans show their glory, and stand topless when the temperature is so low. We celebrated together with them, we joined them. We`ll ask the fans for compensation for the next fifteen days that we miss sitting at home sick (smiles).
