Maxim Kanunnikov on loan to Tomsk

Zenit`s promising young forward has been loaned to Tomsk for a year and a half.

The agreement between the two clubs on the player`s loan was reached on January 17. According to the agreement terms, Maxim cannot play in matches against Zenit. Maxim is required to join his new club for their second pre-season practice.
– I`m happy that I`m going to Tom. They`re counting on me, and I`m hoping that I`ll get playing practice there and that I can grow as a footballer, – says Maxim Kanunnikov. – All the more so since Tom`s coach likes to work with young footballers. But whatever the case, St. Petersburg has become a new home for me over the five years that I`ve lived here, and Zenit has become my home club, and I really hope to come back to the club.

– Tom now has a completely St. Petersburg forward line, since you`re joining Evgeny Starikov. Will that make it easier for you?
– Of course! Evgeny and I have been friends since the season when we won the youth league championship together. Furthermore, Vitya Svezhov, one of my close friends from the Russian national youth team, plays for Tomsk too. So I`m sure that there won`t be any problems with adaptation, and I can do everything possible to earn a place in Zenit.
