We did not play to our best, it's true. We must not forget that our last match took place on Sunday evening and Utrecht played on Friday.

Did you expect such high pressure from the Dutch?

Every game in Holland is difficult. Unfortunately, we made mistakes. In the first half, they were actively pressing us, in the second half we made the game much more even, but we allowed gaps in our defensive play.

Ahead of us we have a match in the Russian championship first, then we have the second game with Utrecht. After our next match, then we will start to think about the return leg.

Are you unhappy that the match was brought forward a day?

The problem was connected with policing, they did not want two matches to be played on the same day, one in Amsterdam and the other in Utrecht. So the game was moved.

Why did Zenit not turn up today?

We need some time. The backbone of the team has not been decided yet. We have changed many players and sometimes we aren't going to have the best matches, but to make a strong team, it takes time.
