"Davai Davai!": The fans made donations for Artem Samuilov thanks to Alexander Kerzhakov

Zenit supporters, viewers of GTRK TV and the charity Rusfond all together raised 3.6 million rubles to help Artem Samuilov. Zenit's top goal scorer then took his place with the artists on Nevsky Prospect.
On 29 August, Alexander Kerzhakov spent an one hour with his easel and paints and became a real St. Petersburg painter thanks to the assistance of our famous local painter, Nikolai Kopeikin.

First, the ex-football player painted Artem Samuilov, then they swapped roles and the boy drew a picture of Russian football's number 1 goalscorer. Then together Artem and Alexander did a joint-portrait.

"I am very glad that my club has such a great initiative", said Alexander Kerzhakov. "I'm glad that the fans respond and very quickly donated all the money necessary. It's great that the Artem has remained cheerful and this he is a credit to his parents. Our task is to help as best we can and I appreciate that my artistic abilities are pretty bad! (laughs). I remember at school I was much better."

Alexander Kerzhakov was the tenth Zenit player to get involved with Davai Davai. Previously Hulk sang and danced on Nevsky Prospekt, Danny worked as a barber, Yuri Lodygin was a tour guide at the Hermitage, Artem Dzyuba was a tram conductor, Mimmo Criscito was a circus artist, Mauricio had a go as a taxi driver, Kokorin sold donuts, Vladislav Radimov worked with the Emergency Services and Nico Lomberts became Peter the Great.

So far Zenit and Rusfond have raised over 22 million rubles (311,000 Euros) for good causes.
