Your first Zenit hat-trick and your first four goal haul in your professional career. How are you feeling?
I am very happy! I would like to thank the whole team for their support, and for the belief in me I’ve always felt here, from both the players and the management. I’ve said it before, but this is a source of great pride for me. Everything has come together, my son is about to be born, and I really want to win the title as early as possible so I can leave early for Brazil for the child’s birth. I’m absolutely delighted with my first hat-trick and even four in one match in a Zenit shirt and in my whole pro-career. I am speechless, now I just want to enjoy the moment and get ready for the big match next Sunday.
You scored four and now scored more than 40 goals for Zenit (41) is four a special number for you?
No! I would like to tell you one story, but I can't, ha ha! But I'll say it again, I'm very happy and I want to go down in club history as one of Zenit’s best ever foreign players.
Zenit once before had a super-successful Brazilian, Hulk. Should Malcom have a superhero nickname?
I don't know, I’ll have a think about it, but nothing springs to mind right now. I don’t have any words, only emotions, there are so many things in my head that it’s definitely not for me to choose a nickname, I want to get on the bus and call my family, I’m sure they are happy for me and want to celebrate the win! Now it’s time for a rest.
The next league match against Spartak could decide the league title. Does this motivate you or does it make it more stressful?
We are in for a very difficult game, so we have to be excited. We know what strengths Spartak have and we need to focus on ourselves and play our best game in front of our own fans and win those title medals. This is what we all really want!
