Zenit have important games this week against Spartak and AZ, are you ready for both?
I think everybody is ready for two important games, it’s not the first time for Zenit to play important games in such a short period, we are a top team and we are used to it. Everyone is ready for this game and for Sunday.
You played AZ 8 years ago, what memories do you have of this game?
Yes I think this is the second time against AZ, when we won the UEFA Cup we played them I remember it well, there were many Belgians playing, Van Gaal was the head coach, it was 1-1 and was the start of our road to the UEFA Cup for 2008. There were many good memories.
Van der Brom is the AZ coach, are you expecting him to play like he did at Anderlecht?
Yes, He was the coach at Anderlecht and was a champion, he’s a good coach, a typical Dutch coach who stands for attacking football, that’s how they like to play in Holland and he plays like this at AZ, he’s got good results at AZ. Then the president left and they don’t have the ability to buy big, big players anymore so for them to get to the UEFA league is a big achievement.
Zenit haven’t played in the UEFA league for a long time are you ready for this?
I think two years before we played in it in the knock out stages, but it’s been a long time since we played in the group stage. We have to deal with it and we want to go far. We want to win it, we are motivated and are professional players, we know how to win and have to prepare professionally.
