Yuri Morozov Memorial Tournament

An international youth tournament that has been held in St. Petersburg since 2006. The first incarnation of the competition was organized by Zenit the Mikhail Biryukov Master Class group.

Since 2011, the tournament came under the Zenit solely and former Zenit stars Mikhail Biryukov, Aleksander Kerzhakov and Viacheslav Malafeev all participate.

Some of the academies taking part over the years include CSKA Moscow, Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Kiev, Shaktar Donetsk, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Red Bull Saltzberg, Schalke, Porto, Tottenham Hotspur, Hoffenheim and others.

Yury Morozov led Zenit to the third place runners-up in the league in 1980, he managed the USSR to runners-up in the 1988 European Championship and was an all-round legend of St. Petersburg and Russian football. He was also an honored trainer of the USSR (1989) and winner of the Coach of the Year in 2001.
