Mircea Lucescu is the new Zenit Manager

An agreement between the Romanian maestro and the blue-white-sky blues has been reached with a two year deal, including the possibility to extend it for a further year.
Lucescu was born on the 29th July 1945 in Bucharest, Romania. In 1979, he started his managerial career at Korvinul from the city of Hunedoara, before going on to work with the Romanian national team, Dinamo Bucharest, Pisa, Brescia and Reggiani in Italy, before going back to Romania with Rapid Bucarest where he had two spells. With Inter Milan and Turkish side Galatasaray and Besiktas making up his managerial club list before heading to Eastern Ukraine. 

From 2004 to 2016 Lucescu managed Shakhtar Donetsk and under his direction the miners won 8 championships of Ukraine, 6 national cups, 7  super cups and 1 UEFA Cup. In total  the Romanian has won 32 trophies, including the championship in three countries (Romania, Turkey and Ukraine) and two European titles, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
