Wendel Valle da Silva was born on 28 August 1997 in Duque de Caxias, Brazil. He started his playing career at Tigres do Brasil before joining Fluminense’s Academy in 2015.
Wendel made his debut for Fluminense in April 2017 and played 41 matches for the Brazilian club, scoring six goals and creating two assists.
Wendel made the move to Sporting Lisbon in January 2018 and played 79 matches for the Portuguese giants, scoring six goals and gaining eight assists.
In 2019, he made his debut for Brazilia’s U23 team.
Wendel is known as a central midfielder who likes to push forward in support of the forwards as well as tracking back to defend and hold the middle of the park. His strengths are tackling, reading the game and the ability to make a defence-splitting pass.
