Alexander Kerzhakov: "If it were not for Morozov, I would not be the player, I am today"

The top scorer in Zenit's history shared his memories from working with Yuri Andreyevich Morozov and the strengths of the famous coach.
You started at Zenit under the direction of Yuri A. Morozov. What were his strengths as a coach?

Everyone knows that Yuri loved and knew how to work with young people. It's no surprise that this tournament is dedicated to his memory and named after him. The tournament is for children aged 15 years old. This age is the transition from youth to adult football. I think if Yuri Andreyevich is watching this tournament, he would be glad. There is a strong line-up of participants, back in his time, we could have only dreamed about such teams in a youth tournament in St. Petersburg.

Was Yury Morozov a very demanding person. You often got it from him?

If he had not been so demanding, then I would not be the player who I became. I think that's not only me, but that also goes for the other guys who came to him at a young age.
