Artem Dzyuba: “I hope Malcom becomes a mini-Hulk for us!”

The Zenit forward on the draw with Krasnodar

It was an interesting game and I think the fans enjoyed it. Both teams were playing open football, but the first half was too emotional so nothing much really happened. But the second half was very lively. We were dominating the whole second half but an unfortunate own goal put us behind. It’s good to see the team spirit that we have and that helped us equalise. It would’ve been a shame if we lost to our main opponent. Krasnodar is an awesome team, and every team should enjoy playing against them.

How do you rate Malcom’s debut?

You don’t get into Barcelona by luck. He’s super teccy, he just needs some time to adapt to our league. It’s hard to jump in the deep end straight away. I hope he becomes a mini-Hulk for us.

How was the congratulatory tunnel for Malcom?

He definitely got my signature kick, everyone gets it.

The match was goalless right until the last minutes, were both teams too careful?

There were too many flaws, too many emotions and a lot of nervousness. Both teams were losing the ball quite a lot. The goal opened up the game for chances and I think we were more dangerous. Also, I promised Sardar to say this: this is the best goal of my career because it was assisted by Azmoun. Massive thanks to him, I am still in shock - Sardar passed the ball.
