Konstantin Zyryanov: "We played a disciplined game and battled for the ball well"

The Zenit U19s' manager on the defeat at home to RB Leipzig.
Overall we played a disciplined game and battled for the ball well, but we didn't play much football today, unlike the Leipzig side.

In the second half, did the team looked tired?

No, we played exactly the same way as we did in the first half. We gave it our all and we asked the guys to make sure they won any 50/50 balls, and the guys did that. We also asked them to keep the ball on the ground, since in the first half there was too much of the ball in the air

What caused the defeat?

The fourth official said that this was a direct red card from Dmitry, although the main ref was originally only going to give a yellow. We played with ten men and this is the main reason for the defeat. In general, I want to say that the guys did great. Even with one less player, they tried and pressed. We didn't attack enough, but the guys gave it everything they had out there.

In the first half, did Leipzig look beatable?

I can’t say that they created any major problems for us. Yes, we could have won, but the circumstances were not in our favour.
