Quickfire interview with Dmitri Radchenko

Our Gazprom Academy U10 player Alexander Strizhakov did a quick interview with former Russian international and current Zenit coach Dmitri Radchenko.

What was the best goal you scored?

Probably the most beautiful goal I scored was in the 1993/94 season for Racing Santander against Athletic Bilbao. You can find it online and it was beautiful, especially as it came in the last minute!

When you played abroad, did you find it easy to communicate with your teammates and coaches?

At first it was definitely not easy. It was a different country, a different language, a different mentality and I had to get used to it. But soon all that went away, I learned the language and once I started to Spanish life became much easier.

Do you like street football?

I am very good at street football! Because that's where I started playing football. I was aged 9 or 10  and constantly chasing the ball in my yard. I was lucky enough to be spoted by a coach and offered a trial, that's how it all began for me! I am very good at playing football in my yard or on the street!
