Alexander Erokhin: “After the international break it is always important to start with a win”

Lieutenant Alexander Erokhin, congratulations on the win! What can you say about the game?

Thanks! The most important thing is that we won today. After the international break it is always important to start with a win, because some of the guys played more, some less and some just got here yesterday. That we’ve got the three points today is very good.

Today you played a lot of the game upfront, especially in the first half. How comfortable are you in this position?

It all part of my attitude towards the game, whatever the coaching staff asks or where they want me to play, I will do it.

In the first half, Zenit were dominant and could have been 3-0 or 4-0 up. What happened after the break?

Probably, we got things wrong with the changes we made in defending and gave Sochi more freedom, we pressed less than in the first half and that may be why the game went like it did.

The next game is on Tuesday in Europe, what do you know about Club Brugge and how do you feel before starting the Champions League?

We know some general things about them and from tomorrow we will begin to prepare specifically just for Club Brugge. I think we'll watch a lot of videos and the coaches will tell us what we need to know and how we will play. We are preparing very seriously for the game and are looking only for the win.
