Alexander Erokhin: "The first days are always tough, but that’s alright"

The blue-white-sky blue midfielder spoke to Match-TV about the start of the Gazprom Training Camp in Dubai.

Alexander Erokhin: "The first days are always tough, but that’s alright"

How have the first training sessions been? It’s looked tough from the outside

Preseason training is always tough, especially as we haven’t had the usual time for preparing, just the two quite short training camps. We’ve started right off well with hard sessions. The first days are always tough, but that’s alright as everyone knows what these camps are like. We are working hard and getting ready to continue the season.

Some teams like to play pranks on their fitness coach by throwing them in an ice barrel, do you guys have this plan?

We have two coaches, so it might be difficult to pull off (laughs). Let's see, if they don't run away we might. Let’s see what they make us do.

Did the lack of a pre-season this summer change things here?

We had a vacation and some time to be with our family and to relax mentally. But we did train too during that time. After a short rest, I’d say we were 70% or 80% ready for training camps. Overall, that time went well and we’re back with more energy and ready for the next part of the season.

Who is the team joker with Dzyuba away? Sardar Azmoun?

Sardar was a day late too, but he’s ready with the jokes. Let's see what happens with him tomorrow. Everyone is in a great mood and we are training happily. Alongside a lot of running, we have a lot of time with the ball and that’s interesting.
