Sergei Semak: "Congratulations to the team and the supporters on the end of the season"

I would like to congratulate the team and the supporters on the end of the season and today's win. Even with the season already settled we were still motivated and played a good quality game to get the win and win big. I am glad for Artem, who is now the league top scorer, he’s managed to make up the difference between him and Sardar. This rivalry is really good for the competition in the league too. Today we can be happy for both the team and a number of individuals, especially the young players who made their debuts, some even in the starting lineup and some coming on as sub. I am glad for these guys and this is an incentive for them to improve and progress.

I want to thank Tambov, they have remained motivated in spite of all the problems they face and I know how difficult it has been. Once again I want to thank them for the game and for the attitude they’ve played every match with. I’m sad for Tambov and that they may no longer exist as a club. The guys here are great.

How would you rate Odoevsky's performance and his prospects?

Let's see, it’s too early to say anything now. This was his first match and to know more we’ll have to see him play more games to evaluate him. Overall the young players did well in this match and looked good.

Why didn’t any of the foreign players come here for the game?

This was the last away game and most of them live quite far away and flights home take a long time. Plus we have to take into account quarantine and coronavirus restrictions in their own countries. When we have the opportunity to give them some more rest, we take it. Last season we were all in a difficult situation and the players weren’t able to travel home, so we’ve rewarded them for the professionalism they’ve shown.
