Alexander Medvedev: "Ozdoev is a true embodiment of the hard work, honesty and professionalism required in football"

After almost five seasons in a Zenit shirt, midfielder Magomed Ozdoev is leaving our team. He’s been a regular pick for the Russia national team and has won a number of trophies while being a blue-white-sky blue, including four Russia league titles, the Russian Cup and two Russian Super Cups.

Magomed Ozdoev is a true embodiment of the hard work, honesty and professionalism required in football. In the face of the fierce competition from both Russian and foreign players, he earned his place in the Zenit starting lineup and was a regular for three years. Unfortunately, a severe injury prevented him from starting the 2021/22 season. Despite the tough rehabilitation period he endured, he was able to return to the pitch and always gave 100% and scored some of the most important goals for us, including the last minute strike against Chelsea!

Magomed could have stayed at Zenit, but having a love of playing the game, he chose a different path. On behalf of the entire club, I wish him all the success for the future!
