He will be assisted by Maksim Kovalev and Varantso Petrosyan. VAR will be operated by Sergey Ivanov and Andrey Obrazko. The fourth official will be Artem Chistyakov.

In the previous 17 Zenit games refereed by Pavel Kukuyan the team from St. Petersburg won nine times, lost four times and four matches ended with a draw. The last match was on 9 April when Zenit played away against Lokomotiv and won 2-1. 

The match against Spartak will take place at the Gazprom Arena on Sunday 7 May and will kick off at 6pm St. Petersburg time.
