Sergei Semak: “We’re trying to win every match”

Are you happy with the match and result? How important is the result?

It's always nice to win and yes the result is not the most important thing, but our players are always want to win, either in friendly matches or in official ones. Today our movement was good and we got the workout we wanted. We’ll analyse the match and move on. We need to see what happened to Sasha Erokhin with his potential injury, which is worrying for us, especially as we have other injuries in the team. It is important for us that everyone is fit and ready.

What is Erokhin’s injury?

We'll see, I hope it’s nothing serious. We’ll know after he’s been examined and it is difficult to say anything in more now. I think that tomorrow or the day after we’ll know for sure.

Yaroslav Rakitskiy didn't play today, is he also injured?

Yaroslav has a slight injury and is not training at the moment so wasn’t able to play today, like Misha Kerzhakov. I hope they will soon be back with us, that goes for Karavaev and Douglas too. I think they will be back with us tomorrow.

Were the team looking to get Krapukhin a goal in the second half today?

No, that wasn’t the case. Krapukhin lead the attack and made more opportunities to score than others by getting himself in goal scoring positions.

Krugovoy played on the right and Musaev on the left. Why was this?

We have limited options as not all our players were available today, so we had to swap some positions. Leon Musaev can play left-back and Krugovoy plays on the right. Of all the possible options, this one was the best.

Friendlies are helpful, but what about for the goalkeepers? They had very little to do today.

It’s not that simple, even if a goalkeeper has a little to do, he always needs to concentrate as much possible. If a chance happens then he must be ready, even if there aren’t many chances. For goalkeepers matches like this can be hard work and stressful, without the chance to make a single mistake.

Wendel scored from distance, did you instruct him to shoot from outside the box?

It wasn’t just that, if we have the chance to take a shot then we should take it. This has been something that’s been missing from our game. With the arrival of Wendel, who knows how to shot from distance, I hope that we will score like this more often.

Is there any update on Dzyuba and Lunev? How are they and are they still testing positive?

They are being tested but nothing has changed, they are doing fine and we are waiting for a negative test so that they can start training.
