A few words about the championship win. How did you get through the celebrations and has the euphoria already worn off?
There was no euphoria, it was actually quite tense. All season you have that expectation and its quite heavy to carry. When you know that that pressure is temporarily lifted things become easier. We were happy for two days, but now we’re getting ready for the game, for our job and we will go out and train and be ready to play.
This is your third gold medal in a row with Zenit as manager. Does it feel different every time?
Sure it does. Every season and every league title, every game even, is unlike any other. There is both enormous tension before every game, and pressure. Our task is to think about how to make the team play better and do our job well.
Your main task has been achieved and Zenit are champions. What are the team's goals for the remaining two games?
The same as usual, to go out there and play football with the aim of winning. We will play as best we can. Perhaps in these matches those players who played less will get some match time. But our aim is to win.
Will we see a lot of changes against Ufa?
There might be some important ones, due to suspensions, small injuries and the like. We will watch and check the condition of the players, some still have old injuries that affect them. Some will stay in St. Petersburg and others who’ve been out will play. But who exactly, we will decide after today's training session.
Are Ufa a dangerous opponent now, because they’re fighting for survival?
Of course, every opponent is dangerous. Lokomotiv had a winning streak, and Dynamo Moscow too before we played with them. Some have changed managers, which gives the team an additional incentive. Ufa are no exception, they are playing more attacking football now and scores in most matches, they create a lot of chances. A very interesting game awaits us, and we prepare just like any other match.
