Dmitry, congratulations on staying in St. Petersburg! How do you feel now?
Thank you so much! I am incredibly happy that I am staying, this is what I wanted and what I’ve dreamed about since I was a child. I am looking forward to the new season and we’ve a lot of work ahead of us, so I don’t have much time to be too happy, I’ll take a breath and get down to business. I want to go to our training camp in optimum shape.
You spent most of last season at Zenit and won your first league title. How would you rate the past year?
It’s not been the easiest and there were some tough times, but I feel good and we have an excellent team. I feel I’ve completely got used to the team and only feel positive. I am sure there are even more positive feelings ahead of me.
Last October you said that trying on the Zenit shirt was always your dream and it cam true, what’s your next dream?
It’s only now that I understand this dream came true. Now I want to stay in this club as long as possible and to win a spot in the first team. I want to win as many trophies as possible and get into the Russian national team. These are my dreams, goals and plans for the future.
