Dmitri Chistyakov was born on 13 January 1994 in Pikalevo, in the Leningrad Region.
A former pupil of the St. Petersburg SShOR Zenit football school along with his brother, Dmitri started his pro-playing career with Rostov-2, before heading back to St. Petersburg to join Zenit-2 where he stayed until the 2015/16 season, wen he headed out on loan to join Armenia’s Mika Ashtarak .
In July 2016 he moved to Shinik Yaroslavl where he played 69 matches and scored 6 goals. In August 2018, he joined Tambov, where in the 2018/19 season he played 27 matches and scored 4 goals, helping the team win promotion to the Russian Premier League.
In the summer of 2019, he joined Rostov and after a few months won a call-up to the Russian national team. Chistyakov played 25 matches for Rostov and scored 1 goal.
