– For me, as a Portuguese, the bid made by Spain and Portugal, obviously, has enormous significance. But today, when I play in Russia, I have a special feeling for the country: I want the World Cup to be played both in my native country and in Russia. I think Russia really does deserve the right to host the World Cup. It`s a fantastic country for a tournament like the World Cup. This will be a really tough decision for FIFA, and I`m sure that all the particularities about whether a country hosted the World Cup before or not will be taken into account.
