Michael Lumb goes home to Aalborg

The Danish defender, whose contract is owned by Zenit, was sent on loan to his native country.

Michael Lumb was born on January 9, 1988, in Aarhus, Denmark. Lumb is a graduate of the football school of his native city. Lumb was continually named the best Danish player of his age throughout his youth career, and became the youngest player ever to debut in the Danish Superliga in June of 2005.

The youth star`s confident and successful play in the Danish league attracted the attention of several top foreign clubs, and of course the Danish national coaches as well. Michael was continually called up for Danish youth national team matches, and before signing his contract with Zenit he won the right to play for his country`s main team.

However, the young player didn`t manage to win a starting position in Luciano Spalleti`s defense. Lumb spent the second half of last season on loan to Feyenoord, but the defender couldn`t gain a starting position in the Dutch club either, and was not even included in the team`s list of players for matches at the end of the season. In the end Zenit`s management and coaching staff decided to bring the player back from his loan in Holland and sent him to the Danish league to play for Aalborg.
