Robert Renan Alves Barbosa was born on 11 October 2003 in Brasilia, Brazil's capital. He started his career at Corinthians, and making his way through the club's academy. he made his first team debut in April 2022. The defender played a total of 13 matches for the Sao Paulo club, 11 of which were in the starting lineup.

Robert Renan joined Zenit in February 2023 and has played 17 matches for the Russian champions and has won an RPL title and a Russian Super Cup, where he scored the decisive penalty kick in the shootout.
