Happy 70th birthday to Anatoly Davydov

Zenit's record appearance holder and the director of the Gazprom Academy, Anatoly Viktorovich Davydov, celebrates his 70th birthday.

Anatoly Davydov was born on 13 November 1953 in Tula and joined Zenit in 1975. He went on to play 456 matches for the blue-white-sky blues and was part of the team that won our first league title in 1984. 

After ending his playing days he joined the Zenit coaching staff in 1997, and took over management of the first team in 1998. He went on to lead the club to the Russian Cup win in 1999, our first trophy in the post-Soviet era.

Anatoly Davydov has held many positions in the club, from again being first team manager in 2009, as well as roles with Zenit-2, and our U21s. In December 2017, he was appointed director of the Gazprom Academy.
